The New York Police Department found themselves in a public snafu this week, after confiscating 106 pounds of cannabis – that turned out to be legal hemp.
The NYPD seized the shipment of hemp intended for GreenAngel CBD, after being tipped off by a concerned FedEx driver.
The NYPD then contacted GreenAngel owner Oren Levy under the illusion of having them pick up the shipment. Levy’s brother Ronen then came to the precinct to pick up the shipment and was promptly arrested. At some point during this whole process, the 75th precinct thought it was a good idea to tweet about the arrest and post photos of officers with the bags of legal hemp. Now we know that hemp oil used for muscle recover after workouts it may seem harmless but it does look so like cannabis flower, just no THC!
Great job by Day Tour Sector E yesterday. Working with FedEx and other local law enforcement, they were able to confiscate 106 Lbs. of marijuana, and arrest the individual associated with the intended delivery.

Oren Levy took to the GreenAngel CBD Instagram page to defend his brother and the company, and urged FedEx to turn over the shipment to police in Vermont, who cleared the shipment and told FedEx it was“100% legal”.
Levy says that the NY Police Commissioner and the NYPD are lying about claims that the shipment did not have the proper paperwork to authorise its contents.
“Not only did we have paperwork in each box, the farm also sent him all the paperwork he asked for by emails. We also have a statement from the Vermont PD that all paperwork were in each box!”
According to documents obtained by the New York Post, the hemp contained 0.14% THC – well under the federal limit of 0.3%.
A Brooklyn judge released Ronen Levy without bail on Sunday, November 3rd, however, Oren Levy claims that he has not had his legal hemp worth an estimated $30,000 returned to him.
