Mike Tyson reveals the cost of running a cannabis farm

Mike Tyson has revealed that he ‘burns’ through £33,000 a month on his very own cannabis farm, with the help of his business partner and former NFL player Eben Britton. The reason for the large expense to all down to the personal use of his own product. The retired boxer made the claim on Monday night on his podcast ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’.

“What do we smoke a month?” he asked his co-host and advocate for marijuana, Britton. “Is it $40,000 a month?”

“We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month,” Britton said, referring to Tyson Ranch, the sports man’s forthcoming 40-acre long cannabis farm and resort.

The former heavyweight champ then went on to explain that overall the ranch sells $500,000 (£415,000) worth of marijuana products each month. Tyson Ranch was founded in 2018 shortly after California’s recreational marijuana laws were passed and it currently sells nine strains of cannabis flower, as well as potent extracts, and soon, edibles. Living the ‘high’ life since his retirement Tyson also revealed that he has plans to turn the ranch into a massive marijuana-themed resort. The holiday spot will be 407 acres, when finished and is going to be named the

“Lollapalooza of cannabis.”

It features 20 designated acres for master growers of weed, and already has an amphitheatre complete with a luxury camping area and cabins – he also wants to add a video game area.

Green Space

This is not the 52-year-old’s first venture into the green space and in 2016 he started his own company called Tyson Holistic Holdings. He also runs the Tyson Cultivation School which aims to educate farmers on how to better grow and develop different types of strains.

Although this might be his most lucrative career move yet Tyson reveals that he hopes the cannabis-themed resort will “have him rolling in the money”.
